5 Tips To Prep Your Skin For Your Wedding

When planning a destination wedding in Maui the last thing you should be worried about are skin issues leading up to your wedding day.  Many of our Maui brides are coming from climates different from the tropics.  Here are our best tips to ensure your skin is Maui wedding ready and your Maui makeup artistry can be applied with optimum results.

5.  Skin Care Routine- If you don’t already have one, today is the day to start!  You can keep it simple by making sure you are cleansing, toning and moisturizing morning and night.  The better condition your skin is in leading up to your Maui wedding, the better you will look on your wedding day.

4.  Exfoliate- You don’t have to do this every day, once to twice a week is great.  It is extra important before your Maui wedding day that you exfoliate all of the impurities from your skin. Your Maui makeup artist will thank you!

3.  Sunscreen- Even if it is in your daily skin care routine, make sure you have some sort of sunscreen on at all times on Maui.  Maui’s sun is intense, even on a cloudy day!  The last thing you want to worry about when you arrive on Maui is covering a sunburn.  Red noses don’t photograph well either.  If you really think you need some color book an organic spray tan with us!

2.  Under Eye Care- This is HUGE!!  Brides, get yourself an eye cream ASAP.  One of the most difficult tasks for a makeup artist is applying concealer to dry under-eyes.  Makeup can settle in the creases and unfortunately age a face rather than hide what we are trying to cover up.  We can’t stress this one enough, if you are planning a Maui Wedding and hiring a Maui makeup artist, start using and eye cream now.

1. Hydration-  We know its difficult, you are on a Maui vacation with all of your friends and family.  Your bridesmaids keep popping champagne and handing you Mai Tai’s at your rehearsal dinner.  Try your hardest to stay hydrated.  Drinking enough water leading up to your Maui wedding will keep your skin glowing even through the late nights and early morning demands of a Maui bride.

We hope these pointers help our Maui brides look and feel their best!
